Starting a new series Ars Culinaria Polonica: a set of kitchen notebooks featuring famous dishes from traditional Polish cuisine, with the first volume dedicated to Pierogi. The cover illustration presents classic pierogi dumplings with a potato filling, butter, and toppings. Inside each notebook, there is a short description highlighting this well-known Polish dish. On the front, we use Lombard Initials designed by Aleksander Augezdecky in 1557 in Szamotuły, Poland. The letter P stands for Pierogi.

Crafted in the heartlands of Poland, pierogi are time-honored dumplings shaped by centuries of culinary tradition simple, comforting, and deeply rooted in local heritage. Made from soft, elastic dough and filled with ingredients like creamy potatoes, tangy farmers’ cheese, wild forest mushrooms, or fragrant seasonal fruits, they embody the honest flavors of the Polish countryside. Gently boiled and often finished with a kiss of butter and caramelized onions, pierogi offer a delicate bite and a warm, earthy richness. Whether enjoyed during festive gatherings or everyday family meals, these handmade dumplings capture the essence of home humble, nourishing, and unforgettable.
